The aim of the CIRCLE project is to develop a drainage pavement made of cast-in-place concrete based on shell co-products, with low environmental impact and significant drainage properties. On the other hand, the addition of shellfish co-products by substituting natural aggregates makes it possible to reduce and preserve non-renewable natural constituents.

Today, in the face of climate change, combined with the increasing urbanisation of soils, Europe regularly has to deal with episodes of flooding with major human, environmental and financial consequences. Drainage of road structures is therefore an obvious solution to combat this devastating phenomenon.

The CIRCLE project has been selected within the framework of the INTERREG VA France (Channel) England European Cross-border Cooperation Programme co-financed by the ERDF and brings together 6 French and British partners.
