Back to the CIRCLE final event!

The CIRCLE project is now coming to an end. Indeed, the technical and communication activities will end on 31 March 2023.

This is why, on 28 February, the French and British partners met at Dunston Hall in Norwich for the final event organised by UEA (University of East Anglia).

This was the last opportunity to present the results of the CIRCLE project to a varied audience: local authorities, representatives of the Interreg FMA, water management agency, etc.

A look back at the event on December 19th, 2022

On December 19th, 2022, the English pilot site was inaugurated at the partner UCLan in Preston.

This event was an opportunity to present and highlight the CIRCLE project in front of an audience composed of academics, representatives of local authorities…

The CIRCLE project team wishes you all the best for the year 2023.

The 5th SCM took place in Preston!

On 17 November 2022, the penultimate COPIL of the CIRCLE project took place in Preston, hosted by partner UCLan.

As the project ends in March 2023, this was an opportunity to take stock of the final stages of the project.

We also had the opportunity to visit the English pilot site and to see its progress.

The last COPIL will take place in Norwich on 1 March 2023.

ESITC Caen becomes BUILDERS School of Civil Engineering

Since October 4th, 2022, ESITC Caen, lead partner of the CIRCLE project, became BUILDERS School of Civil Engineering.

Progress on the Eurovéloroute V4 pilot site

Work on the Eurovéloroute V4 pilot site is progressing well!

As a reminder, within the framework of the CIRCLE project, 1.2 kilometres of the cycle track will be used to implement the method of draining concrete based on cast-in-place shellfish co-products.

This pilot site is supported by the Communauté d’Agglomération des 2 Baies en Montreuillois, a partner in the CIRCLE project.

Presentation of the CIRCLE project at ICAE 2022

From the 8th to 11th of August 2022, the ICAE conference (International Conference on Applied Energy) was held in Bochum, Germany.

The conference provided the opportunity for our CIRCLE project partners at UEA to highlight and present the work titled “Sustainable Business Models for Sustainable Concrete – The Triple Layered Proposition”.

The presented work is to be published as a conference paper submitted and accepted by ICAE 2022. Once published, It will be available in the Energy Proceedings journal.

Event of the 21st of June 2022

On Tuesday 21th of June 2022, the CIRCLE project event took place in Conchil-Le-Temple (FR).

Organised by and at EQIOM, A CRH Company, this event was an opportunity to present and highlight the CIRCLE project to an audience of elected officials, community representatives and industrialists….

The program included a visit to the concrete plant of EQIOM, A CRH Company, with an explanation of the washing and crushing of the shells, followed by a visit to the pilot site of the Eurovéloroute V4 by CA2BM with a demonstration of the draining quality of CIRCLE concrete.

This day was a real moment of exchange between the partners of the CIRCLE project finally together and the visitors invited to the event.

The 4th Steering Committee on June 21st, 2022

On June 21st, 2022, in the afternoon, the 4th Steering Committee of the CIRCLE project will take place. It will be the opportunity to showcase the structure of the sector of shell waste valorisation.  

Visit of the CA2BM pilot site

  On August 31, ESITC Caen, CA2BM and Eqiom – A CRH company met in Montreuil to visit portions of Eurovéloroute 4. These portions, with a total length of 4km, will be built with the pavement mix developed for the project from spring 2022.
